We Found Nemo
I was really excited we I found these bath toys in the dollar section at Target. Aubrey loved them too. They were great in the bath until a month or so later when black mold was discovered growing inside because it's impossible to completely drain them of water. Stupid cheap dollar section. You got me again.

Dad's Shirt
For whatever reason, Aubrey decided to put her dad's shirt on after church and it fit her perfectly, as a floor-length dress. I guess she's graduated from borrowing shoes to borrowing clothes. She's so cute.

Then she went to go show her Dad while he was going to the bathroom behind the saloon doors. I couldn't have stopped her but he could have shut the bedroom door.

(When deciding on the title of this post, I asked Aubrey if she says "dad" or "daddy" more. Her response, "I pick Dad more". Oh, okay, "Dad" it is.)

No Doubt with Paramore
When I found out No Doubt was going to be coming into town on their tour and their lawn tickets were going to be cheap ($10), I casually mentioned to Adam it would be fun to go. We hadn't been to a concert in a long time and it would make a fun date night since we would be moving soon afterward and lose our babysitters. He agreed. What really shocked me happened the next day. He showed up at the house with two tickets with actual seats. Not only would we be sitting in chairs but we were only a few rows behind the pit. I guess he really does love me to buy such awesome tickets to see a band where he really only knows one and a half songs of their songs.
We almost didn't make it to the concert because the babysitter I set up two weeks in advance wasn't at her house when I went to pick her up and neither was anyone else in the family. I started calling the house phone, her parent's cell phones, her friends and was getting nowhere. I was actually more worried something happened to the family since the are incredibly reliable and easy to get a hold of. To make a long story short, our good friends agreed to watch Aubrey for us and on the way out of their house after dropping her off, our babysitter called and was really panicked because she realized she had forgotten since the family impulsively went to a movie to celebrate a family member's accomplishment, which was also why nobody was answering their phones. I told her not to worry about it since the situation was taken care of and I knew something like this would typically never happen with her.
Now we were leaving an hour later than planned for the concert and I was worried we would miss not only the opening band, Paramore, but the beginning of No Doubt. Luckily, there was an opening band for the opening band and about five minutes after finding our seats, Paramore started their set. Paramore was good and I was excited to see them. For whatever reason, the bass was so much louder than it should have been. I felt like you could barely hear her sing over it and she has such a great voice. That was disappointing.

The guitarists all had the same buzzed haircut and were wearing similar things. Then they would all head-bang at the same time and it looked like they were backup dancers preforming a choreographed routine. Watch the video below to see them preform their new song that nobody knew yet.
And finally, presenting No Doubt...

I'm posting the video below of the opening because we were so close to the stage and just off to the right, we could see behind the big white curtain. We could see that the band members were not at all doing what you see on the white curtain. They were just casually walking around stage, Gwen was getting sips of water, the others holding guitars. It should be obvious. How could the drummer be standing their one second and then be playing as soon as the curtain came down? I'm also posting it because Gwen is awesome and you can see her in action.

I wish I could get away with wearing outfits like this.

Tony was really funny because he would be totally into playing while looking out into the audience and something or someone would make him break into this goofy, cute smile. It's one of those, you-had-to-be-there moments but it was really funny to us every time it happened.

Below: Kingston, Gwen's son, with the nanny (I'm guessing) were hanging out in the wings. It was really cute to see him dancing. For almost a whole song, he was waving to his mom when she got close to him but Gwen didn't react at all. I don't think she saw him waving but it was adorable. I wonder if he knows what cool parents he has.

Notice the air fists (below)?

Gotta love the keytar. I do.

He's weird. I don't get him (the drummer).

Okay, you HAVE to watch this video if you know Sheryl and you definitely have to watch it if you knew her in Middle School / High School when she wore reddish lipstick. During their song, Running, they have early band footage playing in the background. It's crazy how much Sheryl and Gwen Stephanie look alike and crazier I've never noticed it before. At the end of the song, Adam turned to me and said, "I actually thought some of that video was of Sheryl", which made me not feel so crazy to be thinking the same thing. The video I posted isn't the whole song but it starts at the part of the video where she looks the most like Sheryl so pay attention there, and then, there's another batch about 45 seconds in.
Below: Here Gwen is trying to read all the signs people made. I was really surprised at how gracious she and the other band mates were. They said they were shocked at how many people came out to see them and I think it was genuine (It was sold out and you could tell. The place was packed.)

These two guys were awesome.

Love the outfit.

She's doing push ups during the song, "Just a Girl". She also made all the guys and only the guys sing, "I'm just a girl". It was pretty funny. Click here if you want to see a close-up video of it.

This is us after the concert, a little sweaty, but happy.

P.S. On the venue website, it said you couldn't bring still or video cameras (not even phones with cameras). I brought the camera with us but since we were running so late, I didn't want to bring it in and then get stopped at the door and told I couldn't bring it so I just left it in the car. I cared more about seeing the concert than taking pictures. I was pretty annoyed to find out this wasn't a rule they were enforcing, in fact, people had crazy nice cameras inside. I didn't take any of the pictures above but they all are from the concert we went to.

Chocolate Rules
This is what I get from Adam when I buy us smore supplies at the store, enjoy the smores together for a few days, and then eat the last half of the chocolate bar without making a smore. According to Adam, if that last little bit of the chocolate bar was used for a smore, these rules would not have been made for the next package of bars I bought. I laughed pretty hard when I saw this:
Rules for this Chocolate:
1. 3 full bars must only be eaten as part of a smore.
2. Last half of last bar is for smores only regardless if rule #1 is fulfilled or not.
3. Enjoy!
p.s. Why isn't the word smore in the dictionary? It's like not having the word "sandwich" in there.

The Calm Before the Storm
I made a Target run real quick before the tornado warning rolled into town. I took this video while I was driving so you could see the storm ahead of the tornado portion. It's hard to really see the lightening but when there's a lightening storm, it's constant and frequent.
Aubrey and I scared of the storm. I really was scared but not of the tornado. I was scared of the hail storm that comes with the lightening and tornado. I was worried that the roof we just replaced that week would be damaged.

P.S. The potential tornado portion fizzled before it hit us, as well as the hail, so no worries.

More Resturants
I like going out to eat but it's not as much fun as it could be when you get kicked out of your house at the last minute around dinner time for a showing. You can tell Adam and I were tired and not happy about it. Adam looked alright but my photos weren't even close to blog-worthy. Also, I didn't realize how "country club" Aubrey looked until I saw the pictures.

Reading in Bed
Our bedroom is the off-limits room in our house. Mainly because our bathroom doesn't have a door we can close and know Aubrey won't be able to open. Naturally, anything off-limits is the one place she wants to go, anytime she can. Her favorite part of the room in our bed. It's her favorite game to play night-night.
While Adam was gone with the Reserves one weekend, I left the door open to our bedroom for just a moment and came back to find Aubrey reading her book in our bed. She looked so cute sitting there in this huge bed all tucked in. The bed was actually made and she pulled back the covers to get in.

As soon as she saw me, she threw her book down and pretended to be asleep.

Crossed-eyed.

She actually got to sleep in there that night. Usually when Adam's gone and I'm going to bed, I'll pick Aubrey up while she sleeping in her crib and bring her into our bed. Sometimes it's because it's scary to be asleep in a house by yourself and sometimes it's because I don't want to go wandering through a dark house when she does wake up in the middle of the night. Shes does wake up really happy in the morning when she realizes where she is.
